What are custom fields?
With custom fields, you can capture additional information that you cannot track with Taskworld’s native task properties. These fields can be seen within the task window and in the task card while in board view. Right now, you can add additional fields as numeric values, drop-down list, or free text (more options coming soon).
Who can create and edit custom fields?
Project admins can create custom fields. Only the creator and workspace admins can edit or delete existing custom fields.
What’s the difference between private and public custom fields?
A private custom field will only apply to the project you create it in. You will not be able to add it to other projects.
A public custom field can be added to any project (see below).
Please note that you can change a private custom field into a public one but not vice versa.
Create a custom field
Open a project
Click Settings Tab in the top of the Tasklists to access the project settings
Go to the tab “Custom Fields”
Click on “Create a new field”, a pop-up window will appear
Give your custom field a title and a placeholding text if needed
Select whether your field should be a number, drop-down menu or text-based
Set the permissions to private or public
Click on “Create & Apply”
Edit a custom field
Open a project
Click Settings Tab in the top of the Tasklists to access the project settings
Go to the tab “Custom Fields”
Click on the settings icon on the right side of the field you would like to edit
Select “Edit field”
Adjust your custom field and click on “Save changes”
You will be asked to reconfirm the changes, click “Yes, save changes”
Add an existing custom field to your tasks
Open a project
Click Settings Tab in the top of the Tasklists to access the project settings
Go to the tab “Custom Fields”
Click on “Add existing public fields”, a pop-up window will appear
Filter by field type if needed or search for the field name by name or location
Select one or multiple fields you would like to add
Click on “add selected fields”
Remove a custom field from your project
Open a project
Click Settings Tab in the top of the Tasklists to access the project settings
Go to the tab “Custom Fields”
Click on the settings icon on the right side of the field you would like to remove
Select “Remove from this project”
You will be asked to reconfirm the removal, click “Remove from this project” again
Delete a custom field permanently
Note: This action will delete the field from all projects and cannot be reverted!
Open a project
Click Settings Tab in the top of the Tasklists to access the project settings
Go to the tab “Custom Fields”
Click on the settings icon on the right side of the field you would like to delete
Select “Delete field permanently”
